Weaving words, making home

Weaving Words, Making Home was a collaborative writing workshop that explored home not as a fixed place, but as an ongoing process—an act of homing.
Drawing on concepts of wayfaring, entanglement, and relational belonging, participants reflected on home as something continuously made, unmade, and remade through movement, memory, and connection. Inspired by the work of Tim Ingold, Cecilia Vicuña, and diasporic poetics, the workshop invited participants to consider the relationship between textile and text, and how we weave our homes into existence.
The workshop culminated in a collaborative woven poem, where each participant physically threaded their words into a single hanging thread, creating a poem of shared and overlapping homes. The final piece remained as a material trace of the workshop, embodying the idea that home is never singular or static, but always in motion—an unfinished weave of memory, connection, and presence.
